Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Environmental Engineering from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science. In secondary school and at Columbia, I tutored other students in a variety of math and science related topics. Recently, I've tutored students in Algebra, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. I love to help students grasp mathematical concepts by connecting them to practical "real world" applications. When I tutor, I strive to help my students develop problem solving skills that will assist them during their entire academic career. Math and science are both areas of study that build on the things previously learned. That's why students take math classes in a certain order. It is my goal that I help students lay a foundation that they can use as they move further into a subject in semesters or even years to come. I am currently employed as an Ocean Engineer and appreciate the chance I've been given to work on the ocean. When I'm not working or tutoring, I enjoy reading science fiction, cycling, sailing, and skiing.
